A Lesson In Class: Solange’s Rustic & Charming Wedding

SolangWedding

Solange Knowles and long time boyfriend Allan Ferguson wed yesterday in New Orleans at the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans. Two hundred guest filled the rustic and charming concert hall which was originally a Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  The beaming couple rode vintage bicycles to the ceremony and the bride’s basket was filled with cream roses. No detail was left to chance.

Solange wore a cream pantsuit with cape and a deep plunging neckline. Her hair was in a glorious afro:  full, fluffy and gorgeous. A vibrant red lip was the perfect accent and she appeared happy and calm. The groom sported a matching white suit, looking quite dapper and distinguished. Solange’s wedding represents the sheer beauty of matrimony and also the beauty of learning to accept yourself for who you are. Solange has grown and carved out her own niche and style. I usually don’t cover celebrity news but I must tell you that her authenticity can be felt through her music, fashion and candid interviews. Her wedding was just a peek inside of who she is, and from that I can see, she’s gorgeous.  I’m sure that Allan is quite the catch himself.

What did you think of the wedding, let me know in the comments!

Absolutely Adorable Scarves For Fall!

Posted in Fashion, Inspiration
on October 17, 2014

Fall is in full swing and a cute scarf is a fantastic way to pull your outfit together. Paired with your cutest pair of skinnies, nice boots and top of your choice, the perfect scarf makes you feel warm and fashionable. I love fresh colors even in the autumn. Just because it’s cooler outside doesn’t mean you have to wear dark colors. I do like dark colors in some cases, but for the most part, I like accessories that have a vibrant appeal. Here are a few scarves that I think are super-cute for fall.

  1. Blush colored with golden metallic polka dots! Oh my goodness this scarf is so cute!  I want to wear it with things that it doesn’t even match with, just to have it on! LOL!
  2. I don’t care what anyone says….there’s nothing like mint colored anything. Mint colored jeans, tops..whatever. The color reads fresh, exciting and youthful. Such a light and airy color that makes all seem well.
  3. In this scarf, creamy oatmeal and berry collide for a scarf that is a perfect balance. Stripes and the combination of berry and dark blue are heavenly, the oatmeal color just ties it all together.
  4. Tribal print is always a yes in my book and especially when it’s set in vibrant colors like magenta and turquoise.
  5. No set of anything that I put together would be complete without something peach. It’s my favorite color. Similar to mint, it has a pronounced color without being overwhelming. It’s very feminine and pretty.

Polka Dot Mint – Oatmeal – Tribal – Peach

Will you be scooping up some scarves this fall?

Do you know where their on sale at?

Do you like any of these and how would you rock them?

The Perfect Little Clutch

PerfectClutchCollage

After navigating the rough and rugged terrain of the internet highways and byways, I have narrowed it down to 3 clutches that I’d like to purchase. I would like you to tell me in the comments which one you like the best. Obviously, I like all 3 but I thought it would be fun to get everyone involved!

The Sandra Roberts Resin Clutch is made out of an unorthodox material and has stripes and pastel colors….which scores big points for me!

The Michael Kors Pyramid Clutch is chic and stylish, the gold hardware makes it stand out and I’ve been looking for something white.

The Apartment 48 Raffia Clutch is a beautiful dark magenta color and has an earthy texture, plus it’s lightweight. I can definitely see myself carrying this one.

Comment below and let me know which one you like the best.

Have a fantastic day!

it’s the little things: office inspiration

Whether you work from your home office or you have a cubicle or office at work, there are little things that you can do to keep yourself motivated and inspired. Pretty things have a way of putting you in a good mood. They make the sometimes mundane task more special. Check out a few items that I believe will make your workday more beautiful.

Designs By Maria is a cute little Etsy shop with a plethora of inspirational prints for your home office or even your office at work. You can opt for an 8×10 and put it in a stand up frame for your desk, if you cant hang things on the wall.  Positive messages that let you know that you’re “BeYouTiful”  along with other catchy one-liners are sure to keep you in the right frame of mind. Prints are a great way to achieve a high-end look without the high-end price.  A nice frame will make these prints pop for sure!

Everyone has to write things down, right? Well you can do it in style with the Rifle Paper Company’s Botanical Notebook Collection. I love anything floral, so this is right up my alley. Also, the Kate Spade Spiral Notebook is absolutely chic with shiny gold polka dots!

If you’re working on a project, an inspiration board serves as guidance to let you know what direction to go in and to ultimately keep your vision cohesive.  A vision board is a board filled with inspirational messages, goals and pictures of what you aspire to be. Viewing your vision board everyday consciously and subconsciously reminds you of your goals to keep you inspired and hurry them into fruition!

I just love polka dots!! And these pens from Kate’s Paperie are delightful and come in a wide array of colors and would serve as cute decoration to your holder of choice.

Do you buy special things to make your office space warmer and more inviting? I’d love to hear from you!

Have a great day!

5 Must Have Cocktail Rings!

five cocktail rings

Cocktail Rings are a great attention piece and an even better way to accessorize a smashing outfit. It was super tough to pick only five cocktail rings to share because we found so many that we liked. But alas, these are our choices!

Kate Spade always knows how to make classic and vintage pieces. We love the Hancock Park because it is simple and comes in a variety of colors! Pick yours up at nordstrom.com.

The Square Sterling Silver Dotted Ring carries a funky and eye catching shape. Square rings are gaining popularity on the ring market and the black dots add some edginess. Find your own on etsy.com.

The Seaglass Green Cocktail Ring is made with bits of gold lead suspended in resin. The gold leaf adds great texture, sparkle, and depth. Get yours from etsy.com.

The Cross Cocktail Ring is made with natural aquamarine and carries a vintage look. Isn’t it the perfect statement piece? Get your own from etsy.com.

And the Amethyst Cluster Ring is definitely an eye catcher with the amethyst set in gold. Imagine how much this beauty would sparkle in the light! Get it from charmandchain.com.

We had such a hard time narrowing our favorites down to five. Tell us which one of the five is your favorite!
